Celebrity Robert Pattinson, star of the long awaited movie Twilight in which he plays a teenage vampire, has recently waved goodbye to his signature tousled locks and has now gone for a shorter sexy haircut.

The star, who was more famous for the tousled look than his stunning bone structure, expressive eyebrows and sultry eyes, looks good in my opinion with the shorter look. What do you girls think? Which look do you prefer?

A new survey has shown that men prefer long  locks on women when it comes to hairstyles. A staggering 43% of men in the poll said that long, wavy hair is the sexiest look for women, followed by long straight hair at 13%. It is thought that long hair is traditionally linked with femininity and this is why almost half the men picked this style as the sexiest look.

Apparently perfectly groomed hair is a no-no with men preferring the natural look, and lovely shiny locks also get a big thumbs up. Over use of hair products is not liked by 79% of the men surveyed as they said they liked to run their fingers through their partner’s hair, and the men seem to prefer hair that is down, rather than in a smart up-do.

Apparently 80% of the 3000 men surveyed think you can tell a lot about a woman by her hair, but a quarter of them would not be brave enough to give an honest opinion of a new hairstyle!

This made me giggle when I read it! A reporter at the Grand Forks Herald believes that men with good hair, those who excessively groom their hair are untrustworthy! Apparently real men don’t have helmet hair, courtesy of hairspray that would deflect shrapnel. Real men aren’t members of the Hair Club For Wussies and real men don’t have a favorite hairbrush!

So girls, what do you think? Are real men the ones with the mussed look, the ones who look like their hair could do with a quick tidy? Or are they the ones with the manicured hairstyle, the hair which is better groomed than any woman of your acquaintance?

Over to you girls!

If you have been diagnosed with diabetes you may have found that you are also suffering from increased hair loss. There are many medical conditions, which may cause hair loss, from stress to poor diet, but if you suffer from diabetes the hormonal imbalance caused by the disease may result in you losing your hair, as may your medication.

If you are suffering from increased hair loss it may be worth consulting your doctor so that they can monitor what is happening, as well as trying to manage your diabetes better. You may also find that if you can take better care of your general health, through correct diet and healthy living, your diabetes improves and as a result your hair loss decreases.

Even in the current recession looking your best is still a very high priority with most people and it seems the Japanese are no exception. The HairDX genetic test collection kit for baldness is now listed with Japan’ s Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency as a Class 1 medical device.

The kit, available in the US through participating physician offices, hair restoration surgeons and dermatologists, is the first kit which genetically tests for male and female hair loss. HairDX is dedicated to the research and development of new prescription based therapies, tailored as a result of the kits findings, for each individual client.

For one day only the staff at Hair Friends and Company, of Tom’s River, New Jersey, is offering 99-cent haircuts for those, who because of the recent hard times, have lost their jobs. Joanne Polacek, owner of the salon, has heard many stories recently of customer’s husbands being laid off and so is offering haircuts which normally cost between $30 and $50 for less than one dollar.

So if you live in Tom’s River, New Jersey, and your man is one of those who has recently lost his job, then the WHOLE family can pop along on Sunday for a 99-cent haircutThe staff will cut, wash and blow-dry until the hair of everyone who turns up is done.  How great is it that some are thinking of those in this unfortunate situation right now. Good for you Joanne!

Now this I really do like! As a way of easily jazzing up your hair for the Christmas and New Year party season the new Thai hair tinsel has surfaced in Walnut Creek. Using just a few strands which are tied to just a single strand of your own hair, the hair tinsel adds just a highlight of party color to any hairstyle.

The hair tinsel strands will normally stay in for 10-12 weeks, depending on your hair, which is more than enough to go through the party season and if you like the look, as many oriental ladies do, you can keep it in all year round. The Thai hair tinsel can be washed, blow dried and even flat ironed and colored! Now I just need to find a local stylist who can put some in for me!
